Otherwise, forget about it.
With our heads hanging low, low, low, low– perhaps we really ought to step back, step down, step away. Bow out. Go. Just go. We’ve done quite enough. STOP. Please…Just don’t move.

I was born in Philadelphia, and ended up here. In spite of identity crises at the ages of 13
(dancer or nerd?) and 33 (dancer or mother?) and a general air of confusion about what exactly I'm doing with my life, I continue to call myself a dancer. For that privilege and the extraordinary adventure it has offered, I give thanks.

ولدت في فيلادلفيا وفي النهاية وجدت نفسي هنا . على الرغم من أزمات الهوية في سن 13 (راقصة أم طالبة مجتهدة؟) و 33 (راقصة او أم؟) مع كل التخبطات العامة حول ما أفعله بالضبط في حياتي ، ما زلت أسمي نفسي راقصة. على هذا الامتياز وهذه المغامرة الغير عادية, اقول شكرا.

נולדתי בפילדלפיה, ותראו איפה סיימתי. אף על פי שחוויתי משבר זהות עמוק בגיל 13 (חנונה או רקדנית?) ועוד אחד בגיל 33 (אמא או רקדנית?) משברים אשר ממשיכים ללוות אותי עד עצם היום הזה, אני עדיין מרגישה בנוח לחשוב על עצמי כרקדנית. על המתנה הזו וכל מה שהיא העניקה לי אני מרגישה אסירת תודה.

Avshalom Latucha is an independent dancer and choreographer based in Jaffa. He began his professional path at the Haifa Workshop for Dancers, where he met Roy Assaf. Their collaboration started with Avshalom performing in Roy’s work, and later evolved into an artistic partnership.
Three years ago, Avshalom set out on a new and challenging journey as an independent creator—a path that quickly gained recognition when he was selected for the Suzanne Dellal Centre’s 1|2|3 program for emerging choreographers, ultimately being named the program’s outstanding artist in its final stage.
This year, Avshalom was commissioned to create new works for both the Ka’et Ensemble in Jerusalem and the Roy Assaf Dance Company.
אבשלום לטוכה, חי ביפו, רקדן ויוצר מחול עצמאי, החל את דרכו המקצועית כרקדן בסדנה להכשרת רקדנים בחיפה שם פגש את רועי אסף, איתו עבד בתחילה כרקדן ובהמשך גם בתור שותף אומנותי ביצירותיו.
לפני כשלוש שנים יצא לדרך חדשה ומורכבת כיוצר עצמאי. נבחר להיות חלק מתוכנית 1|2|3 של מרכז סוזן דלל ליוצרים בתחילת דרכם ואף נבחר כיוצר המצטיין בשלב המסכם של התוכנית.
השנה, הוזמן אבשלום ליצור עבודות חדשות לאנסמבל כע׳ת בירושלים וללהקת מחול רועי אסף.
